Huck Truck Continued.......

In an effort to make sleeping in the Huck Truck a possibility I went on the search for some sort of sleeping accommodations. I did a lot of research on forums like www.expeditionportal.com/forum/ and of course Google image search for ideas, and to see what others had done. At first I was sold on the roof top tent for sleeping, but I wanted something a little more covert in case I had to pull over and sleep somewhere it might be frowned upon (like a neighborhood). So I decided to go with a camper shell. I found one on good old craigslist for $200 and talked the guy down to $100 (these thing retail for around $1000). This one has a slider window on one side and one with gas struts on the other side. Also is a little taller then regular so I can actually sit up inside.

It wasn't an exact color match or even a perfect fit but for $100 who could complain? Now I had a roof to sleep under while on outdoor adventures. No more setting up and breaking down camp, just crawl into the camper and pass out. I will have to figure out how to set up the inside to sleep comfortably and still have room for some gear. I will also need to get a roof rack for my kayaks, but for now this will do. I'll be back with some updates after I take it out to try the set up:)
